On the upcoming Saturday, April 12, hundreds of runners will take on over 800 steps leading to the finish line of the 13th Run to the Top Rondo 1. Among them will be professional tower runners from all over the world, as well as well-known athletes from Poland. The event, as every year, will support the children from SOS Children's Village in Kraśnik.

The Run to the Top Rondo 1 in Warsaw is now an iconic sports and charity event that brings together both amateur stair runners and professional athletes competing for ranking points. The best stair climbers from all over the world will also be present at Rondo 1 this year. These include Wai Ching Soh, Ryoji Watanabe, Piotr Łobodziński, Valentina Belotti, Yuko Tateishi, and Klaudia Krajewska.

Before the professionals compete for the top positions, amateur runners will hit the stairs. Among them is Maja Makowska, better known as "Sugar Woman", who is a representative of SOS Children's Village in Poland and the first diabetic in the world to have completed a Double Ironman triathlon.

It is with great pleasure that I will try my hand again at the Run to the Top Rondo 1. This is the only race of its kind for me during the year because I usually run on flat terrain. What’s amazing is that in addition to testing my form, I can also support SOS Children’s Villages. I recommend everyone to take on this challenge at least once because it is something truly special. Just like the atmosphere during the event. I have already motivated my sister, who will also participate in the race on Saturday.

Also joining the competition is Sylwester Wilk, a sportsman known to a wider audience from programs such as “Dancing with the Stars” and “Ninja Warrior Poland”, who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident a few years ago and completed the IRONMAN 70.3 Warsaw triathlon last year with an excellent result. He’s preparing something special for the start at Rondo 1.

As a trainer, I usually test my athletes in this building. This time, the building will test my endurance. I thought that climbing to the top on both legs would be too easy, so I will try to be the first person to do it... on one leg. No prosthesis, no crutches. It’s going to be tough, but it’s no surprise, considering it’s uphill, as we are heading to the very top.

All participants of the 13th Run to the Top Rondo 1, through their participation, are supporting the children from SOS Children's Village in Kraśnik. The funds raised from registration fees and additional voluntary donations from participants will go directly to them. Over the course of the race’s history, more than 350,000 PLN has been donated to this cause. Thanks to the amount raised during this year’s event, this sum will exceed 400,000 PLN!

XIII Run to the Top Rondo 1 will take place on Saturday, April 12. The first runners will start at 10:00 AM. The elite athletes' competition is scheduled for 1:40 PM. Detailed information can be found on the website www.biegnaszczyt.pl.

The event host is the Rondo 1 office building, and the partner is the Zdrofit fitness club network. The event’s media partners are: Biegowe.pl, Eurobuild CEE, Informator Stolicy, MaratonyPolskie.pl, NowaWarszawa.pl, Radio Kolor, TVP 3 Warsaw, and TVP Sport.
